Cycle Valve should be installed before irrigation backflow preventer (see pictures). Protect the cycle valve from freezing if installed outdoors.




Pressure tanks may be installed in any configuration as long as you follow basic rules.


Rules to follow are:
Remember there is no adjacent pump (no pressure switch)! Water and pressure supplied by Water Supply.
Make sure pressure tank air charge is the same for all pressure tanks.
Pressure tanks (empty, no water) air charge pressure should be two PSI less than the cycle valve pressure setting. Pressure tank 38 PSI, Cycle Valve 40 PSI – for example. Check pressure with tire (shrader valve) gauge.
No other items plumbed between multiple pressure tanks. Only pressure tanks, manifolded together.
Water is cycled (replaced) every time you use water reducing incidence of stagnation.
